५ मई २०२१ – प्रसेनजित सर कहते हैं, “बच्चों के स्कुल आने से सबसे बड़ी चीज़ कोई होती है तो वह ये है की बच्चों के जीवन में लय (rhythm) आती है।” पिपला (बधी) के ये करीब १०-१५ बच्चे करीब १५-१६ महीनों के बाद एक-साथ गोले में बैठे। असोला के अमरा भैया ने कहा, “सर आज आप इधर हो इसलिए ये बच्चे दिनभर एक जगह बैठे हैं, नहीं तो सब इधर-उधर रहते हैं।”
5th May 2021 – Our mentor Atul bhaiya says so many times, “The essence of learning spaces is that the children get a pivot around which their day, and eventually their life gets organized.” These children got a chance to sit together and have a meaningful and joyful engagement after over 15-16 months. Amara bhaiya from Asola said, “Sir, these children have sat in a place for so long only because you are here today. Otherwise, they just roam around aimlessly.”
१२ मई २०२१ – एक दिन कोविड संकट चला जायेगा। लेकिन बिना किसी प्रयास के हम बैठे रहे तो हमारे बच्चे, एक पूरी पीढ़ी जिंदगी भर के लिए शिक्षा के प्रवाह से दूर हो जाएगी और गरीबी और शोषण के चक्र में धकेली जाएगी। हमारे बच्चे और नए फेलो/शिक्षा-साथी मिश्र/ऑनलाइन पढ़ाई की तैयारी करते हुए।
12th May 2021 – The Covid crisis will go away eventually. But our kids, a whole generation, will lose on opportunity to get educated and will be thrown in the cycle of poverty and exploitation. Both our children and our new fellows/facilitators preparing themselves for blended/online learning.
१९ मई २०२१ – स्कुल की तैयारी के लिए कुही फाटा भरवाड़ समुदाय से मुलाकात। भूरा भैया बोले, “सर आप आ जाओ, आपके रहने के लिए हम जगह बना देंगे। किसी ने नहीं किया तो मैं खुद करूँगा। सर १-२ लाख रुपये खर्च कर चूका हूँ अभी तक, लेकिन सब सिर्फ पैसा लूटने में लगे हैं, कोई ठीक से बच्चों की पढाई पर ध्यान नहीं दे रहा है। मेरा बच्चा ४ थी मैं है, लेकिन ठीक से पढ़ नहीं पाता।”
19 May 2021 – Meeting with Kuhi Phata Bharwad community to prepare for school. Bhura Bhaiya said, “Sir, you come, we will make a place for you to live. If no one does, I will do it myself. Sir, I have spent 1-2 lakh rupees so far, but everyone is just focused on money, but no one is not paying proper attention to children’s studies. My child is 4th but I am not able to read properly.”
२१ मई २०२१ – जो बच्चा ७ वी कक्षा में है, लेकिन मुश्किल से कुछ लाइन पढ़ पाता है, उसका सीखने के बारे में उत्साह कितना हो सकता है? हम स्कुल की तैयारी के लिए असोला जाते समय साथ में बच्चों के लिए कुछ वर्कशीट लेकर गए। पहली वर्कशीट को हल करने के बाद जयेश ने कहा, “सर ऐसे १०-१५ पेपर देकर जाओ, मैं पूरा कर लूंगा।” सारे बच्चे लगभग एक घंटा हमारे साथ बैठे रहे और एक-एक बच्चे ने ६-७ वर्कशीट हल की। आखिर मुझे उन्हें रोकना पड़ा क्यूंकि मेरे पास और वर्कशीट नहीं थी। बच्चे पढाई का उत्साह खो देते हैं, क्यूंकि हम उन्हें ऐसे शैक्षिक अनुभव (Learning experiences) नहीं दे पाते जो अर्थपूर्ण और बच्चों की ऊर्जा और कुतूहल को बढ़ावा देने वाले हो।
21 May 2021 – How enthusiastic a child can be about ‘learning’, who is in 7th grade but barely able to read a few lines? We took some worksheets for the children along on our way to Asola to prepare for school. After solving the first worksheet, Jayesh said, “Sir, give 10-15 such papers, I will complete it.” All the children sat with us for about an hour and each child solved 6-7 worksheets. Eventually I had to stop them because I didn’t have any more worksheets. Children lose the enthusiasm of studies, because we are not able to give them such educational experiences which are meaningful and stimulate the energy and curiosity of the children.
२२ मई २०२१ – राजेश, वैभव, स्मिता, रविंद्र, धनराज, मोनाली, विक्रांत और निमिषा। ४ महीने और ३ चरणों की विस्तृत चयन प्रक्रिया और लगभग ३१० उम्मीदवारों के मूल्यांकन के बाद ये हैं हमारे ८ शिक्षा-साथी जो बहुत सारे सपने, क्षमता और ऊर्जा के साथ Learning Companions के सफ़र में शामिल होने जा रहे हैं। ये वह ८ लोग हैं, जो स्थैर्य (settlement), तरक्की (career/progress) और आराम (comfort) के प्रचलित मतलब और रास्ते छोड़कर नई चुनौतियों को अपनाने जा रहे हैं। हम सभी पे गर्व है। सभी का इस सफर में दिल से स्वागत!
22nd May 2021 – Rajesh, Vaibhav, Smita, Ravindra, Dhanaraj, Monali, Vikrant and Nimisha. After 4 months and 3 rounds of elaborate recruitment and selection process, here are our 8 new companions who are joining Learning Companions journey towards educational equity. They are those 8 people who are taking on a very different challenge leaving behind the conventional paths of settlement, career and comfort. We are proud of them. Heartiest welcome to everyone!
