Sonkhamb – The Progress of Mayur, Dhuli, and Janvi
– Pritam Nehre

Every child learns at a different pace in the journey of education. Some children understand things quickly, while others take a little more time.
However, with the right time, consistency, and guidance, positive change can be seen in every child.
Mayur had been finding it difficult to learn matras and letters since last year. As he is very restless, it was hard for him to focus on one thing and understand his studies. His parents and school teachers were continuously communicating with him, but the expected results were not visible. Still, he sincerely completed the work given to him; he just needed more time to understand. With consistent effort and guidance, a positive change can now be seen. Mayur has started reading matras and is also beginning to understand basic mathematical concepts.
Dhuli is progressing in the same way she is learning. In the beginning, she took time to understand certain things, but now her confidence is growing. At present, she can read matras well. In mathematics too, she can solve addition and subtraction accurately. This change in her learning is the result of her hard work and regular practice.
Janvi could not write in the beginning and had limited recognition of letters, which made learning more difficult for her. However, with practice and proper guidance, a significant change has taken place in her. She can now recognize letters and numbers and is able to read words and multiplication tables. Her progress has improved greatly compared to before. Today, even her father happily says that she has started writing on her own, which is a big sign of her progress.
Thanthan – Zero Gravity – A Journey of Joy
– Mayur Gedam

For children from the Bharwad community, stepping out of home and leaving behind daily household responsibilities is not easy.
They get very few opportunities to go outside or visit new places. Most of their lives are spent with their families, within familiar surroundings.
While interacting with the children, I often realized that even their dreams are limited, simply because they have not yet seen a bigger world. I strongly believed that if they got a chance to experience a different environment even once, it would surely bring a change in their thinking.
When I learned about the Zero Gravity program, I decided that I must take our children there. While making this decision, I felt excited, but at the same time, I was aware of the many responsibilities and challenges involved. The biggest challenge was convincing the parents, especially since the trip involved staying overnight.
I started speaking to each parent individually. Many of them were worried—“How will the children travel so far?”, “Who will take care of them?”, “What if something goes wrong?” These concerns made them anxious. Initially, some parents clearly refused. But I patiently explained everything to them and tried to earn their trust. I assured them that we would take full responsibility for their children.
After speaking with them multiple times, their fears gradually reduced and their trust began to grow. Some parents finally agreed, and that is where this journey truly began.
On the day of the trip, the children were filled with excitement. For some, it was their first time traveling so far, so along with joy, there was also a little fear on their faces. Still, they were very enthusiastic. During the journey, they kept observing new things, asking questions, and enjoying every moment.
When the children reached Zero Gravity, everything around them the environment, the various activities, and games was completely new. At first, some of them felt a bit scared, but slowly they began to adjust to the surroundings.
Within a short time, they forgot their fears and started playing and laughing wholeheartedly. Watching their happiness and smiles, it felt like this experience was becoming a special moment in their lives.
That day, they didn’t just participate in games and activities they experienced an entirely different world, one that was very different from their everyday life.
This experience taught me an important lesson: children should be given the opportunity to dream. And to turn those dreams into reality, it is equally important that someone stands by them. With the right opportunities and a little support, these children can dream big and achieve those dreams too.
Asola – Beautiful Moments with Children
– Prachi Borekar

Today, we visited the children at the migration settlements. After a long time, we got the chance to meet and see them, which filled our hearts with a unique excitement and joy.
We were not fully familiar with the route, but by asking around and searching, we finally reached our children. That journey itself felt very special, because with every step, our eagerness to meet them kept growing.
At first, the children seemed a little shy on seeing us. They stood at a distance, quietly observing us, as if they were not yet sure that we had really come to meet them. Sheetal didn’t come near us at all in the beginning. She is still very young just three years old. There was a slight fear on her face. But we slowly started talking to her, smiling, and making her feel comfortable… and after some time, she too came towards us with a smile.
Soon, the entire atmosphere changed. All the children came together we played, talked, laughed, and enjoyed wholeheartedly. The happiness on their faces spoke volumes. In those small moments, there was a deep sense of belonging, as if we had never been apart from them.
Just as happy as we were to meet them, they too were equally delighted to see us. Their innocent joy filled our hearts completely. We didn’t even realize how time passed in those moments. But when it was time to leave, our hearts were not ready. It felt like staying a little longer, playing a little more, talking a little more because those moments felt truly precious.
From today’s visit, we learned something very important sometimes, people don’t need big things. Just a little time, a little attention, and a little love can create immense happiness.
Chakrighat – From Thumb Impression to Signature
– Navinita Dongre

Today, as usual, we went to the Bharwad settlement outside the village. The sun was very harsh, and the heat was intense everywhere.
It was difficult to sit in the open, so we started looking for some shade to conduct the children’s class. After searching for a while, we finally found a bit of cool shade under a big tree and began teaching there.
Just then, a postman arrived. He had a parcel in his hand—it was medicine for one of the child’s father. The postman said, “Who will sign for this?”
All the elders looked at each other. As always, they were used to giving a thumb impression.
But this time, something different happened.
Sawa slowly stood up.
He took the pen from the postman… looked at the paper for a moment… and then wrote his own name.
It was a little shaky and uneven… but it was his first signature.
The happiness on his face at that moment cannot be expressed in words. There was confidence in his eyes—a belief that “I can do it too.”
Everyone sitting around had a sense of pride in their eyes. His father’s face also reflected a deep sense of satisfaction. That small signature had brought about a beautiful change.
That tiny signature was not just a name it was his confidence. This journey from a thumb impression to a signature was not just about one child, but a living example of how education can bring transformation.
